The 33 Room was built in the late 1940’s alongside the (then) new brewhouse.
The official dedication day for these new buildings was March 21, 1949. It kicked off a weeklong event in the Peoria area known as “Blue Ribbon Week”. Illinois Governor Adlai Stevenson cut the “Blue Ribbon” that day, along with Pabst radio personality Eddie Cantor as Pabst Brewing Co. Executives stood by in excitement and pride.
The delightful new 33 Room was the headquarters of Pabst-Peoria hospitality until the brewery closed in 1982.
It hosted countless visitors from around the world, many who came to town to tour the Peoria Heights brewery or to attend the 500-seat Blue Ribbon Hall for lectures, banquets, entertainment, employee and community events, and much more. In 1956 alone, over 50,000 people visited the Pabst brewery to attend a tour or an event!
Today, the original backbar remains intact, as do several restored original and unique features built into the Room.
Join us Thursday, 3/3/2022, at 5:30pm for our own (blue) ribbon cutting as we reopen The 33 Room to a new era!
